New traffic regulations are in force in Namibia.

Heard one guy was fined N$6000 for doing 130km per hour.
Another was fined N$750 for doing 10km per hour over the limit.
Stiff fines for not wearing your seat belt and jumping stop streets.
Drunken driving... straight to jail and court... no fine option, was enforce already.
No fine under N$500.

Does this apply in Omund  ? where in the past drunk driving was a way of life. Rows of Land Rovers parked at the old Caseys Bar for hours at a time. Anyway this is real progress.

The traffic laws IN SA are also getting tough. Seems like they playing follow the leader.

Must say, I have never ever been so good with traffic rules like here in AUS!!!!!
Life is given to us one day at a time.  Don't look back and grieve about the past, for it is gone.  Do not be troubled by die future, as God will provide.  Live for today and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering....

I see the ttraffic man roaring about town today, sirens going, lights flashing, stopping cars um and then letting them go, when the drivers 1 was on his cell and driver 2 went straight through a stop sign! Ho Hum its Christmas and the drivers wern't the soft targets....... So beware he seems a bit selective, I wonder why? image14

The nation cannot afford the New Traffic fines, this will just increase the temptation to solicit a bribe!

Hey Mike, you hit the nail on the head there, they thrive on bribes as they are all corrupt!!!! Same is SA, bribery is rife and corruption is increasing at an alarming rate. Typical Africa.

Whats a good bribe N$100.00, N$200.00 or does it vary depending on the mood

Depends on what your fine is gonna be? But you can work on $100 first, if he then looks upset, say you only have $200 on you, and if he still looks pissed of, say he can have your dronkie sister down in the Cape......   image201   image21
