1976 ~ Mike Alexander Going to OPS

Well I got my hands on my late father's 8mm silent films and had them converted, I then ripped the dvd into avi clips, reduced the size/quality and uploaded.

The following short clip shows myself, in 1976 on the way out of E7-1st ave in my brand new OPS uniform, note the tie, cap and blazer..... which are no longer part of the uniform at OPS.

These were silent movies, so I added a soundtrack. There is a quick shot of the box next to the fence, might that be for the bread and milk....

I remember that my mother was very proud that day, it might remind a few of you out there of your first day at OPS in a uniform.

At the Gala yesterday, MArtin Niemand and myself were recalling the old uniform at OPS, Martin reminded me of those pins we wore on our blazers, the round dots that depicted which colour house you belonged to.... remember them?

We counted 5 ex old boy/Girl pupils at the Gala yesterday, Sharon Holland(Wilson), Michele Alexander (Voden), Anine(sp)Niemand, Martin Niemand, Mike Alexander,  Coreen Swanepoel was not in attendance yesterday.......

Strange feeling still attending OPS Gala's after all the years....
