The Oranjemund Private school has released a brief yesterday stating that they will not be continuing with the original plan to establish a grade 11 and 12 (Std 9 and 10 ) at the Oranjemund High School.....

That's bad news!  It means buying a set of new school clothes for less than 2 years of schooling....
How about home schooling? Anybody up to it?
I volunteer to help with biology, physics, chemistry.   As long as I get to stay in Oranjemund at least 1 week every quarter!  woo_hoo

I don't think it is too bad of an idea, after all there is no growth in Oranjemund, the kids are also limited in their extra mural, I mean outside there is more variety....

Heard this morning, that a lot of Grade 10 parents are highly upset about the school informing them at such short notice that they do not intend to continue with Grade 11 and 12......

The mine should realize that having a School/High school of repute is a major consideration for future employees....

I do not think that this was thought out in the correct manner, but then that is just my opinion.....

I'm entitled to an opinion,here.....

I think the locals had a hand in the decision not to continue the high school, it does not help that the powers that be, establish the high school, then a large percentage of the villagers still send their kids off to boarding school, citing limited opportunities in Omund.....

Me thinks that it is more of a case of the sheep following the head sheep, perhaps if the village chieftan had not sent his young offspring to boarding school , the rest of the flock would not have followed suit........

Just my observation,

It also does'nt help when the Gov was promising millions to support the school whilst on a tour down here and then avoids any contact with the school admin...... politicians like to please the crowd at that particluar time, but fail to deliver the goods.....
