No mine strike here, but municipal wokers.  You should see what the roads look like afther they have done their 'draffie' through town!  Dustbins overturned, litter strewn all over the place, sticks & stones in the road, broken bottles in the road.

Now, that's what you call sensible negotiation ....  bugger up everything and show all that you have no sense !!!!

I must say, that I don't believe that the UNION have the entire support of their members, I was really disappointed in the number of protestors, come lunchtime, most of the mob had gone off for lunch........ really unprofessional strike this year, Sigh! sad to see how things just are'nt done the way they were in the old days...

Picking up speed now, the crowd has moved to the little circle in the middle of the town, blocking the road, the police are just standing by sipping their cold cokes and the crowd numbers about 100....

Day two of the Big Little Strike of 2011, loud music blaring down at the square, another march through town, more policeman milling around, oh! and something new, Placards, the usual one's saying that the GM must leave, and that one must leave..... Yawn!

Some guy in the home safety industry reckons that the mine must be losing about N$ 4 million a day due to the mob..... amazes me how these figures get banded about, back in the big strike of 81, we were losing 11 million a day.......

Try the municipal workers strike ,,,  the usual vandalism ,,, our new Mayor Ms de Lille  says she determined to  catch out the   destructive ones ,,,  picture in the Argus shows them looking at  big screen security pics  to try identify  perps ..  and she want to sue the union for  damages ... about  time ... keep them in court and bankrupt them ....  18 %  increase ,, where  are the  ratepayes saddled with all the increases going to be able to bear that bill ?/ and the assholes dont realise any extra costs just get factored into their   municipal bills as well ...

Namibian newspaper quotes mine spokesman saying 4 million loss per day, strike still illegal and that there are only 150 striking workers out of 1600 employees.......

Actually Mike  ,, its been something the DA  via Ms  Zille  have been  trying  for ages to get pushed through parliament ..   another tack they will be taking is  that the organisers of the  strike said  the members will behave ,, if they  have not then they will be pushing to  have the strike declared illegal ...  We not gonna take  any crap in DA  land .. alre Ifady  the blue light brigades  are banned ...  if those bloated corrupt  ANC  politicians want a blue light brigade they quite welcome to one .. diffs  is  it will be  in the back of a cop van  with the blue light flashing

I was just thinking about our strike, if the union leadership claims that the majority of their members voted in favour of strike action, why did only 20 odd percent of their members turn out to strike...?

Well this morning's march pass went off without a hitch, save for a pensioner, driving around one of the traffic vehicles blocking the road and having his drivers license confiscated ... he was told to come and collect it again later on today......

I must say that the numbers appear to have increased by about 40-50.....

Heard that there has been a bit of intimidation......

Otherwise, it's all quite on the square......
