Let me stir the pot....

This morning I had to ask my staff to move the tampons and sanitary towels to another "concealed" spot in the shop, this is the 4th time they shall be moved this year....

Turns out a number of the "white" ladies have a problem with everyone knowing that they use these products..... WTF? My black supervisor shook her head in amazement    , what';s wrong with these white ladies, it's not like they have to make use of the product right there on the floor,

So it's not me just being a male that cannot see the issue here, as none of the non white female folk have an issue with this...... or am I wrong?

What do you think?

conservative calvinist upbringing?

I suspect Queen Victoria is more to blame for a false sense of modesty than Calvin.
Poor Calvin is branded as the originator for a lot of things he had nothing to do with . e.g. Teachings that was added to his works by  " verkrampte Theologians "  . His works was much more sober than what we are led to believe . Fortunately his unaltered works are still available.

Hennie, you sir, have a point....... I had a mate from high school days, went on to University....

Had a thing about people being upset about folk farting or burping..... called it a "Victorian Hangup!"

It's natural .... just go with the flow broer!

Certain phrases are coined e.g. Grassroot level , or voetsoolvlak. Exactly what does politicians think of us ? to be walked over - grass roots , my goodness.
Same with Calvinistic upbringing  . I think it is a coined phrase to defame people like protestants ???

After a good nights sleep , I think I might suggest something to Michael . If you want to satisfy all , then you should move all the higene & personal items e.g Toilet paper , ear buds , shampoo , soap , condoms , under clothes , nail clippers , sanitary ware , tampons  etc to the back of the store . Partition this section off , and impose a restiction .. ?? make it 3 - 21 years old not allowed .

OMG cannot believe that some people are just so sensitive about nature and the way it was intended. My Dad used to buy me the necessaties every month as my Mom didnt drive and he bought me my very first bra. OK it was from Paris but still!
@Mike, suggest you put the tampons etc in the special beer fridge! That special one only used by the Big Nobs! However talking about "Calvinistics" I received my new work uniform yesterday. Kharki jacket with blue stripe, kharkie shirt with little epilettes, with company logo in blue, kharkie cargo pants. Had a good giggle when I thought old Eugene Terblanche will be tossing about in his grave. Here is a regte soutie, woman and Jewess nog all wearing the volk uniform! ha ha.  So heres' to the conservatives. Bless them one and all.

image061   You are not serious ....  you are serious?  What ......   This is totally stupid and I would tell those aunties so - straight to their faces.  Come on .....

That is what you call 'totaal verkramp'!
Life becomes harder for us when we live for others, but it also becomes richer and happier. Friendship is a sheltering tree.

To be clever enough to get a great deal of money, one must be stupid enough to want it.

This tampon story reminds me of  (high) school holidays in the 1970's. I worked in the gents department (socks, suits, shoes etc). There was no public pharmacy in those days, so the "etc" were condoms. If you wanted condoms you came to the gents department (whose staff were mainly females) and shuffled around embaressingly, rejceting offers of assistance from female staff, until a male (which included a 14 year old me), offered assistance. the request would be for socks, so off to the sock counter we would go, where i - a virgin - was expected to offer advice on which were the most appropriate condoms. I never saw fresh supplies and many were well past their expiry date. maybe that's why kaneintjie dorp had to be built (the larger family houses on the east end of town). The boss of the gents dept was a woman - cant remember her name but she was quite a tyrant.

Could have been Helen Badenhorst ..or was she the ladies  section ... Mrs Stenson  also comes to mind ...
