A nice email, anyone want Charmain's email, contact me....

"Went into the website, looking at my old Birth place, what a difference from my time.
Left when I was 14 and have not been back, which is a pity, as I have never found the right time as always, hoping to get back when I retire in 2 years time.
My Dad used to run the Pub BILLY MACK and he was a Fitter and Turner on the Diamond Mines.
My Mom BABS MACK used to be the sup  at the Swimming Pool.
I would like to hear if any other people from my era are in the Johannesburg and if so do they have a get together.
I was born in Oranjemund 8 September 1953 I was the first Caesarian done in the town.
Would be nice to hear from you if possible. "

Ah, yes. The ebullient Billy Mack, a larger than life character whom I knew very well

A likeable and very popular guy with a yen for acting he appeared in several Oranjemund Players productions and had an interest in soccer.

He often talked of becoming a national parks ranger. Strangely, we last crossed paths in the late 70s - at Etosha. We were both visitors to the park. When I reminded him of his aim to become a ranger  he laughed and told me that reality had overtaken romance and he was now working as a rep for some international company.
