Well well well, what can I say about the log cabin.  Had many off road biking fun there, (got skinned falling from the bike).  Celebrated my 21st there - what a blast.  That is the evening I got home with a huge branch stuck under my dad's merc and parked the car so scew, we could not get it out of the garage the next day.  My dad had to lift and move the car.  Don't ask me how I did that.  Miracles do happen.  I am sure if the cabin could speak.....  need I say more.  Fond memories - what a blast. Is the cabin still standing???

Hi. This is my first try in this forum. Great site. Fantastic finding Names and getting in contact with people I went to school with in the midv 70s.
The logcabin. I remember this one evening at the boy scouts (74 or 75), when "Digger" said the town would be opened. We all went crazy. Oronjemund was almost like a giant jail at that time. The next day we walked all the way to the logcabin. This used to be part of the restricted area. This was like playing Huckelberry Fin and Tom Saywer. One of my mates, Andrew Morrow, told me about his father Ivan having helped build the cabin.
Now thats more than 30 years ago. You mentioning it makes it seem like last week.

The log cabin was near the golf course within the secure area

But the open town was nice for us going mor often to Beauvallon

You and your pals did the fishing in the Oranje............

Do you remember the day we got stuck in the sand with the "Fetzenvilla". It was a couple of hundred meters from the logcabin. My mum was quite anoyed. hihi

Unbelievable! noone in central Europe would ever drive a car that quality. Let alone drive through wilderness the way we did. the old b**** took us everywhere. Thousands of Kilometers. Safely.
