Here's an interesting tale told to me this fine morning down at the Oranjemund Airport.

I was invited for a flip in a helicopter this morning and noticed a new helicopter in the hanger. A nice white beast with blue trimmings..... turns out, that this helicopter is a former NYPD helicopter and saw service above New York at the time of the 9/11 incident.....

Wow! what's the chances, a helicopter from such a fine city now based at little old Oranjemund.....

Looks like a upgraded type helicopter that was used in the TV series  " Airwolf "

For the aviation enthusiasts (Mike!) here are a couple of pics of our heli in her NYPD uniform.

She would have seen plenty of action in her time over New York.  I can't find any photos of her operating during the attacks on NY but its very likely she would have been flying that day.
