"Woods" next to the power station

Andrew morrow and I put a couple of planks up in a tree in the "woods" next to the power station go toward 5th avenue. This must have been 74 or 75. If you stood below this tree, you could hardly see the top of the tree. Our den was right on the top. I haven't a clue how we got the stuff up there, but I'm sure it was Andys strong will that encouraged us. If sitting in the den you would be looking over the top of the trees. As far as I remember they were the same evergreens planted arround town.
all these years I wondered, wether anybody ever found our secret hiding place. Does anybody know?

@  Georg  junior ...  I  think  there  were a  lot  more  secret  tree  dens  than you  knew  in  that  patch  of  trees next  to the  power  station ,, if your  could  not  be  seen  then  so  could  the  others  unless  one  took  the  time  to  climb  as  many  trees  as  you could , we had  one  in  the  60/s  in  the  first  avenue  trees  at the  top  of a  very tall conifer .. same  there  many  unknown  dens  ..  most  probably  only  found when  the trees  fall  down ..

I remember a Buchanen family living in the 2'nd or 3'rd avenue. On the west side of town. A couple that had, I'd think, 3 kids.  One of their sons was called Danny.

@ Georg , Nope  wrong  family ..  we  stayed  in  11th avenue ..   you should  remember  my  Mom  from  the shopping  center ,, and if  I  remember correctly    your  Mom  worked  there  too  at some time ...   and  ask  your  father  . I  was one  of  his troublesome  appies ..

Your right. My mom worked in the food-department.
Do you have any pics of yourself and your mom? In which department did she work in? I saw a pic of a Sandy somewhere on this site, but I'M sure it's somebody else.
There are several people on this site that remember, esspecialy the girls. My red curls! I just don't remember them.

I've been waiting all these years to get in contact. This seems to be the most important thing in my life at the moment. lol

LOL  Thats it,Inge,its taken me this long to fathom out who the Ruf's were.My mom worked in the shoe dept. (Elsie Boehme) The middle aged lady with the two pony tails.I worked upstairs in accounts and in stationery but that was way back in 1975 just before I married.You should remember one of my brothers. Keith, Shawn or Alfred they more of your age.

I do remember your mom, the hair... I don't recognise anybody on any photo. Not even Babara Fry. There's one pic in Lüderitz of a guy who reminds me of Andey Morrow, but it must be someone else...

Hey Georg Jnr, I drove past those tree's today, did'nt have time to stop, did a quick scan, and some of them are really thick at the top, I will  now have to find time to make a closer inspection.....

Sandy did your dad work at 2 plant arround 1986 if I remember he grew a pony tail
I think he was a fitter and he's foreman was Ernest Greyling ?
