Bakers Bay pub and "drilling" on the beaches in June 1981. Don't remember many names - John was one of the geologists in Oranjemund (arms in the air).

I remember my father saying that the old timers reckon'd that the Pan at Bakers Bay would be rich with diamonds, if only they could find a way to get through all the clay and mud!

The pan at Bakers was great to drive on, until you hit a soft spot. Nearly went through the windscreen once as I came to a sudden stop

I was at a meeting about a month back that was arranged by the Ministry of Environment & Tourism, they had various stakeholders present, including the Mine.....

without getting into all the details, I was interested to hear from the mine that they still have areas of Interest up that end of the world , north of Chameis and that the areas were still in theie licensed concessions....
