Mike Voden (RIP)

It is with deep regret that we share the sad news that Anita Reschke  passed away in George at the age of 90 earlier this morning. Anita's son Peter, who was in George visiting his Mum called to let us know.

Anita, or Mrs Reschke as she liked to be known, will be remembered for her work in the old CDM's Personnel Department and "Chaperon" on the early school flights.

Our heartfelt condolences to Peter, Robbie, Grandchildren, family and friends.

RIP Anita now reunited with Mickey xxxx

This is really hard to read...

I just spoke to Aunty Anita 3 weeks ago, just after I had returned from a visit to Kolmanskuppe!

I has seen a photograph on the wall at the museum in Kolmanskuppe and it bore the name Reschke,

And wanted to know from Anita the link, turns out it was her dad....

I let her know that I had just returned from Kolmanskuppe and the town was all fine..

So glad I got to talk to her one last time,

The last Kolmanskuper to buy me a Jagermeister.... Here's to you Aunty Anita.....

So sad this news. I remember the Resches so well. My condolences to Peter and his family. Mrs Reschke was the 1st official person I met when I reported for duty to the admin offices as a 1st year apprentice in January 1970. I have her signature on my apprenticeship contract. She was probably one of the last Kolmanskoppers although I wonder if Gunther Machts is still alive.
