Interest In Sperrgebiedt Open Hits All Time Low!

Well it's that time of the year when in the past our small town attracted over 100 visitors to our town for the annual Sperrgebiedt Golf Open!

I recall those days down at the club, where one would have to park in the desert, as the parking lot was overflowing...

I recall how this was the main event in the town, attracting players from all over Southern Africa.....

Today, I heard that there are only 40 participants for the event this year, this includes local participation......

I have yet to even see a poster marketing the event on a wall..... nothing, nada...

Here was an event that brought tourism and an alternative revenue stream into our town.....
Here was an event that could have been built apon to grow every year....
Here was an event that if marketed correctly, could have renewed interest in the town's future as a destination....

Here is a club, like the rest of the town, spiralling down to new depths.....
