Delia

Clive - yes, it's Uncle Frans Redl i'm talking about.  he passed away a while back - aunty marie is still living in Onrus?? (i can never remember the name of the town) as far as i know.

someone better warn raith's re the impending tsunami of "derby sausage mad" o'munders so he can stock up!!

Hi Delia,
I had my derby sausages for lunch today, boy are they rich (though not as jucy as the ones I remember)

I'm sorry to hear about Frans, I remembering him fixing my 750's Saddle after the dog munched through it ( It was a brand new bike  as well, never thought a dog could be jealous.)

Where those bright red vienna's just called red Viennas or was there another name for them.... today at Spar , I watched the butchery take hot steaming fresh viennas out the cooker.... People that eat meat, I kid you not,, the best time to try a vienna is then... when it's just been made.......

No wonder I weigh so much........  :D

As far as I know they were just good old viennas. I was 4yrs old when we arrived in O'mund 40 odd yrs ago. I only new those red viennas. When we went on leave I found normal ones strange. After leaving O'mund I was horrified that you couldn't buy them, all those years I thought red viennas were the norm.Loved them and can still remember the taste.

i told you guys months ago that those red ones are VIENNAS,got no reply, god those lekker sausages from the butchers were the best

Clive Symes

Bobby, the red dye has got to you, its been banned ( the Viennas are now a beige colour)
We used to dip the red one's in Mayo and chow them with fresh bread

The trick with the vienna's or Bratwurst... is to use Original Hot English Mustard, not that sweet stuff you give to the kids these days.....

Mustard schmustard!

Is that the powdered stuff you mix up, because it bites back

I remember those "pink sausages'.  After a visit to the abbatoirs I was put off them and all processed meat for life!!! till today I don't eat the stuff. The first time my son ate a red vienna he got sick in my lap and i decided then that they were bad news and never agin!!
