Getting into Xmas mood, you need the right weather. It's cold, but there's still no snow. If we're lucky, we might get snow on boxing day.
1. You can see the frost covered moss on our roof.
2. Our garden seen from the bedroom window.
3. The thermometer is slightly sheltered. So it was probably colder

Ok, no chance of us getting snow here this year as well..................

(t' is high summer and I am in the Kalahari, so what are our chances of getting snow???????)

but -  all my preparations for Xmas is nearly done regarding the Food Zone:  Cold leg of lamb, cold chicken, tongue with home made sweet mustard sauce, traditional home made ice-cream, made with real cream (and this takes patience and a lot of elbow grease).  Also got 2 big watermelons and 2 spanspek lined up in the cooler, as well as the first few peeled prickley pears of the season (my poor hands).  All the ingrdients for the salads are stuffed into the freezer.

Checklist:  Ice
              Ice
              Ice
              Ice   (et infinitum)
              the fridge and the freezer are both in good working order
              dishwasher in good working order

Must say  -  even made special food for Ouf - my dog and for the abundance of cats.
