Remember all those dresses, shoes and hats that you could buy at the Oranjemund Store in the 60s? There was also someone "selling from home" that got suitcases full of clothes from "the outside" that one could buy. When the "tent dresses" became fashion, everyone had to have it. There was a lovely lady who's name I cannot remember (I think it was Margaret) who made dresses. I still have a photo of myself in front of the house with that dress which was my favourite. It was corderoy yellow and funky..... Wonder if she is online and remembers too!  Then came the Beatles and when the Beatle dresses. Priscilla Penderis was the first one to have one which I think was blue. The material was sold at the store and mum bought some of the yellow material - which incidently, was curtain material. A shift dress was made and worn probably twice and much admired! But, it stunk like curtain material and needless to say, was not worn again......
Wonder who the lady was that sold the fashions. It was all kept quite as selling privately was not allowed "in them days". It would affect the store sales...

The brother who passed away was Leigh. I think he was a year younger than me. Barb might be able to help. I think the McBrides live cloce to her.

If you are speaking about the sister of Stirling and Leigh, her name is Vanessa, she was in my class.
