Damned Smilies are too Big!

They need to be downsized or killed off. They do not look good in the posts.

They are in my eyes a wee bit big, and I've already mentioned this to Michael but at the moment he just doesn't have time to sort them out. Running and maintaining a site like this really eats up the hours so let's all just cut him some slack.

In my haste, whilst still being relatively  inexperienced, I trieds to get the forum up and running and as entertaining as possible, so I just "dumped" a lot of smiley's onto the forum without checking them out first... it was only at a later stage, I realised that some were doubled up and that some were a wee bit too large..... But due to the fact that people had taken a fancy to them and already used some of them, I felt I was a bit too late to remove them, as this would leave the "old " posts with no smileys but rather a series of codes in the postings , thus rendering the post confusing to anyone who might be new or a person reflecting/ reviewing old posts...... so currently we are stuck with the things....

The site is a community based forum, and my first, I guess I learned a lesson for next time around, I also personally like the smileys, and feel they had colour and character to the forum, even adding a means to make a posting more descriptive.... if 80% of people found them annoying, then I would remove them, as this forum, is not my forum, but for all (ex) Oranjemunders.......

I believe smaller would be better. It'd be easer starting the posting-page. Sometimes it takes realy long with all these big smilies.

Ok! Here's what I'll do.... The Smileys stay, but they need to resized, all the same and smaller..... doubles removed, but I am on holiday now and busy rebuilding to other pc's over, (my arcade machine... droool! ) .... so this will happen in the new year....

I would determine whose doing the posting.  Those that find them "irritating" or those that don't.I'm sure there are people who would find some of the posts "irritating".What then?          fireworks

A mere matter of preference; each to his/her own.  All boils down to choice - don't like the smileys - avoid those posts.  Don't like the posts - avoid the site.  Both former and latter seem fair.
