Don't laugh! , but I just dumped all the Skilpaadtjies and mielies into the blerrie bin...... While I was hanging up the girls towels from swimming, I left the meat alone... Whoooosh! The fat from the skilpaadtjies ignited the entire braai... talk about giving up burnt offerings on a Sunday.....

Anything red in foods are meant to be bad for a person...... when you say whisky is good for gout, do you mean it's good in causing gout or does not aggrevate it as much as beer would.......

Skilpaadjies sounds a bit like - Kockaretsie that you would get in Greece - yum yum , always get loads of it as a starter then comes the steak or lamb ,  greek food is great - it's the closest i've had to a proper Braai since we left in 1992.

All booze is good for gout. This is, if you want your gout to get "stronger" by the day. The same goes to tons of braaid meat.

Talk about Greek food  -  just came back from a Greek restaurant here in Pretoria - (somewhere here in Centurion /Lyttleton Manor region - my clients drove, 'cos in the city even my GPRS gets confused) and I must say - long time since I had chicken that was done so good.  (I will never get used to the plates getting smashed on the floor - everytime someone does that I "skrik" and think now the waitress is in trouble, then I remember about their tradition).  Yip, and I think if you suffer from gout, you should stay away from Greek food as well  - very rich and will for sure hasten a real bad attack on your joints.
