Bobby are the Wilson people any relation to either Sharon Wilson or Paula Wilson, as both these ladies still live in Oranjemund, but have different married names now! Perhaps a brother or sister of theirs?

Hi Bobby
Both Nial Bennet and Albert have passed away
Malcolm Aitken

Bev Burchell

Bobby, Neil Bennett sadly died of cancer quite some time back and Albert Lisser was killed in a car crash also some years back.  Coral is living in Plett and has two beautiful children.  You could find out more by asking Cherry (her sister) who is a member on this site.

its with a really sad heart that i thank you bev and goofy for youre info re,niall, and albert, how sad, many thanks ,take care x

Bobby, I guess thats the downside of the site, to see and find out about all those that are gone, but in respect you get closure and don't go on wondering whatever happened to them, you also will always have the memories, even more so in here as people remind us of things we forgot and above all, you make new friends with Oranjemunders you never knew, but like one big family remember your memories, just in a different year.... the sand dunes are still where you left them......just a bit bigger...

quite correct mike, there is only one certainty in life,we live to expire,i hold those all important memories bud, special to me,maybe trivial to others, but as you say,the om family have a common bond,f***** SORE LEGS FROM THE EAST WIND,have a great nite brother, ahh ,just another thought, talking to my sister about childhood memories, who can rember the large TONNEROKKER tyres we used to have in our gardens, used as trampolines, great to bounce about on,i remember going home and beinng told to get in the bath cos i was covered in the black rubber off the tyres, god i wish i was there xx

Michael Alexander

Man! we had one of those tyres in our yard also, we found it down in the dumps, took us about half a day to roll it home and became the center of attraction in our garden, so versatile, you could jump on it, sit in it, run around on top of it, roll it around the garden, fill it up with water, inside, fill it up with water, fill it up with water, fill it up with water...... and thats what happened to it, we turned it into a Mossie breeding pit...  :-\

Those tonnerocker tubes made the best tubes to roll around in.  It was so huge. My dad actualy nearly broke his back trying to show us kids how to summasault from one.  I remember I used to get so sick from rolling around and around.  Ask Adriaan about the pink buoy I had at my house.

Most of the people you knew also had younger brothers or sisters my age. Also wondered what happened to Enid Bennett & Moira Langford. Thanks for the memory about the tubes. We also had one. Used to stand on it with friends, holding onto each other, bounce up and down, until someone fell off.

Now and again, for a brief moment some guys were able to sneak one of thos etubes into the townpool, everybody would gather around it and try to build a pyramid on it!

Remember how you would shake your head from left to right  in the pool, with t\your mouth open screaming so that it made a gurgling loud noise, kinda like a bark? anyone?

iknow  I can clearly remember that sound.  Even being a girl I tried it, but half choked to death on the water going down my throat.  Has anyone tried going down the sand dunes with those tubes???
