Yes that is correct, Ivan Morrow was our scout master in the 60's and what a great guy he was. We had many scout weekends at the log cabin and was great fun too. I will never forget the fuffy slide we built there.

Ivan Morrow worked as Chief Draughtsman  in the Survey Drawing Office for many many years. I first met him in October 1969 when I joined the Survey Dept as surveyor.  Not only was he an exceptionally talented draughtsman, for he was involved with all aspects of the Companies' decor and graphic design requirements.He played a vital role in the organisation of the childrens christmas parties, the mule derbies etc etc. He was a brilliant sportsman. He represented South West Africa in rugby and actually played a match against an All Blacks touring side in the early sixties or late fifties. He was an ardent and competent cricketer as well as a popular member of the Oranjemund Golf Club.

Thanks for that Anton, I see that Ivan appears in a large number of Newsletters from that era, one would have thought that more people would have tales to tell about this pillar of the community from yesteryear....
