An old Fort from german times in South West Africa (SWA see my nick georgswa) now Namibia

The Kaiser Germany lost that Colony in WW 1
The League of Nations handed the country to South Africa

The free election in 1978 were not recognized by the UN

1990 Majority rule under the Swapo ( South West African people organization) headed by Sam Njumo. Now more or less a one party state like many other african countries

Almost 20 years of rule have brought little improvement to the population.........apart from few of the ruling lobby

The Film is from times before independance and still has traditions of South African time.

That is gone novadays. The Old apartheid is abolished, long live the new apartheid in the reverse sense..........
The fear is, it may go in the direction of Zimbawe former Rhodesia.

In the Film i sing the old inofficial Anthem from German times. To me it expresse the love to that country.

Its dedicated to that years visit and to the remaining german community in Namibia.

The country has many tribes speaking different languages, yet in between they still speak afrikaans, the language of south africa. The attempts to speak english will take time. German is still spoken in the busines world and is part of the countries heritage.

The ruling party is influenced by communist and Cubas Fidel Castro

The Street names have been changed like Fidel Castro Av. or Robert Mugabe the dictator in Zimbawe. All efforts are made to eliminate the past history....

Yet, the country in the wild is still as peacefull as ever, thats what i cherish as many have seen in my serie

In my next film i will mingle with people in the Capital Windhoek and try to find out what

ONDONDOZONANANANDANA really means. I found no answer that time

Since that i found out its " The Hills where Cattle disappear in" (A mountain range near Etosha)

Woke up this morning to snow, in Southampton in April.
Man it's a crazy world...........
but so beautiful at any time of the year, can't help myself I'm like a kid.
There isn't enough for the snow angel thing so I'm still planning to come visit you for that.
