Here
is a nice collection of various buildings in Oranjemund during
the 80's. These photographs were submitted by Susan Kintscher.

The "New" Barclays Bank Building,
now called First National Bank.

The Bioscope as most of us remember
it. The building is now a Nightclub.

The Bottle store when it was situated
in the middle of the town. The building is currently
privately owned and is run as a
clothing and shoe shop.

The Desert Inn, which is currently
Rennies travel Agency and Don Esteban Restaurant.

The HexenKessel Restaurant, which
is currently a games arcade, with the Stauchlager being run under
a new privately owned Restaurant.

The Post Box, which is still the
same today, save for the fact that today the Ticky box kiosk has
been removed.

The Post office no longer supports
the front enclosure you see here.
The Shopping Centre in the 80's.
Today this is the enterance to Woolworths.
The tech is still there, but no
longer trains Appies, but rather various classes and exams are
held here.
The old Veggie market is now a furniture
store called Furnmart.
This building is still the same
today, except that it is used by various groups for different functions.
