The Weather in Omund Today!

Lovely day in Cape Town today. Pool is just on 26C, temp in the shade 28C, dogs are outside lying in the sun.
Me? Sitting  with my laptop outside typing this, by the the pool, glass of wine, love of my life next to me, reading the papers, braai ready to fire up, waiting for the kids to arrive, more wine follow............

The " vaallie" fall down to durbs start soon and for those of you who dont know last year there was a point when they were clocked around three thousand cars per hour entering durban , anyway if this weather we experiencing in durbs continues they aint gonna be very happy...it rains just about everyday . last week we had a small tropical storm where trees were up rooted cars sliding around and boats were been thrown around in the harbour.

This afternoon, the 21st of December, it's typical, humid weather in Omund, the misty clouds are coming over, but it is sticky and hot........ about 23 degrees, no wind to talk of...... and best of all, it's perfect beer drinking weather.....

Finished work today until the 3rd of Jan. (Phew - it's been a looooong year.)
Weather lovely in Cape Town albeit a bit windy at the moment. (me, not the weather - well everyone says I'm becoming an old fart!!)
Just sitting down and trying to relax with a bucket of wine.

Kenny, I unfortunately will not be attending due to the fact that I am stuck on this side of the border.... I have a saying about Xmas time in Omund,

All the Ovambo's go back to Ovamboland...

All the Coloureds Go back to Rehoboth...

All the Whites go back to Cape Town........



..... and....

Us Oranjemunders, well... we just stay here........


...no q's.... no traffic..... no people, the beach is ready for night bonfires..... plent of meat to braai... plenty of Booze....... what more do we need?

BUT, in no ways would I say that, I'm just trying to prempt some other smart from saying the same.

The years we had in Oranjemund we basically did the same over Xmas and New Year.
Our "leave" normally consisted of taking the kids back to school towards the end of Jan and if we were lucky, we could afford to have a few days in luxury at a half star guest house.

In fact even here in Cape Town, I'm hoping that with the exception of one or two things, I can park the car and get pleasurably plonked, stuff myself with food, and just park off for the next 10 days.

It's a beautiful day in Cape Town to-day.Fires lit  braai ,Beer at the ready  . Me making like a whale in the pool swim feeling all :emot35: Can see Table Mountain if I stand on a ladder on my toes and look out the back window.Lifes just great right now
