Ive just read a post in the 'Looking for ....' section and Sharon Fields mentioned the Miss Youth Club.  I have a photo of when Joanne McKay won it ...i was second and Jodi Petit was third.  Warren ...I think you won the Mr Youth Club...Paul you even have a mention....'DJ Paul' lol

Anyway ...here is the pic for all those who remember it.

No, I didn't win that competition - it was Steven Hockney. I don't think that we were involved (DJ Paul was probably Paul Hall, he was the Youth Club DJ for years).
It's all a bit of a drunken blur to me. As Mike always says - 'If you don't remember the 80's you were probably at the Youth Club.'

Besides, Warren weren't Barry, you and I banned from the Youth Club around about that time... (personally i think the students who looked after us that year jealous becaus our beer tower was 3 times higher than theirs)... We even had a war cry.. "We want booze, we want booze, we need booze to make us cruise and thats no news" or something to that effect...

That's the name of it "Miss Youth Club" I remember when I won it and took the cup to the Sportsmans and drank from it.....that would have been me!! Sharon

Never mind the students looking after the youth club in the holidays, remember when us parents used to man the door.Myself and Ernie Justice painted the stage ( yellow I think with Brown squares on the side wall.) I built a new unit for the DJ's equipment and sorted all the wiring out.I think it was mostly the mummies that did the front of house,Maxine and Margaret Quirk to name two can any of you remember any more of the volunteers.

Hi Darryl, Sharon Fields here, yes, shelley did win it and so did your boet. They were dressed liked the mob with their hat's and sunglassess, how they were able to see during the night on the stage with those things on aswell as the drink.....well u know....

I was the last person to win it!  I was Miss Youth Club 1992!  If I am not mistaken, Darryl won Mr Youth Club the same year (he was a Chippendale)!  They didn't have anymore after 1992, they started with Miss Oranjemund after that, but I don't know exactly when...
