I think clint was a little toddler when I was in OM. His brothers were 1 year older and younger than me. If I remember correct. So I don't know anything about snakes.
I'm sure Mel was a scout. But somehow it seems this topic (scout) is not of a big interest.
Nothing special. Just some clips I put in youtube.de

One of the last times I visited Lideritz was in 1974 on my way to do my military service.

Myself and a group of friends, namely my brother Gary, Rianer Siebers, Paul Lisser, Sandy Buchanan, Barend Norjte, John van der Hooven, Gunter Deihme, Ingu Machts and Andre (cannot remember his surname, so many years ago) took the company bus on Friday morning from Omund and arrived at lunch time.

We stayed at the Kapps Hotel and partied till Monday, when the guys not going to do their military training left for Omund, Gary, John, Andre and Rainer.

The rest of us left on the troop train that evening to change our lives for ever.

Life's journey is not to
arrive at the grave safely
in a well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways,
totally worn out, shouting
'..holy sh*t ..what a ride!
