Is Nada Ulbrich still in Oranjemund? If so, would anyone who knows her or works with her please get me her contact details. I will appreciate it.

Nada reads this forum every day... in fact if I am not mistaken she is a member on here and everytime we bash into each other in the store we discuss whats happening on the forum.... for some strange reason she does not post, just reads... I can almost assure you that she will read this post 2morrow!

wow that was spoooooky.... read your post recently and the very next day I spotted an Oranjemund car in front of me... on drawing level saw it was none other than Nada and Heinz!!! Just a bit of useless information but I found it a bit wierd!

What a coincidence!!! I get so excited when I see a car with an Oranjemund registration, but I have never had the opportunity to stop the vehicle and ask who they are.

I almost crashed into one whilst changing lanes on the N! out to tygerberg at the tygervalley turnoff.... would have been quite a coincidence .....

I frequently see cars and bakkies with OR registration numbers here in Kathu or on the road when travelling to or from work.

Note to self: - start writing down registration numbers and post them here for those of you who might know the people or........... it might even be yourself whom I have passed!

As a kid, my brother Stephen, knew the number plates of all the mines townside bus's and a lot of private car numbers, strange hobby...

Hi, although I've never posted I have many fond memories of Oranjemund and would like to attend the reunion in November. I wanted to enquire about the whereabouts of Nada Ulbrich - if she was Rall then she was in my st 4 class in 1970. I remember her so well!

We left Oranjemund at the end of 1970 and lost contact with almost everybody. I have two brothers, Russel and Eugene, perhaps some of you may remeber them - or me for that matter!

Lourens , as Dalene says, welcome to the virtual Oranjemund... I see Nada often in Spar... and as I said earlier, she does read these posts..... I shall just mention your post to her when I see her.... there is a link to the Reunion on the main page or in the Reunion Board..... bring friends and family.... the more the merrier.... enjoy

Thanks Dalene and Micheal! I found Nada's E-mail address in the members list and sent her a message.

My father was an amateur photographer and we have many photos and slides (even some 16mm movies) of Oranjemund. The slides in particular are of high quality and need to be professionally scanned. They are all in Kakamas where my brothers live and I'll get them when I visit there next month. Once I have them scanned I'll post the best ones.

Thanks Micheal for this great website - it has brought back so many memories of an era long gone!

Dalene, do you by any chance know Momberg(h) people living in Kathu? 3 Sons Morne, Marco don't remember the other son's name. I went to school with Marco and my brother with Morne. I think Morne was in a car accident a while back and is now parilized. I haven't spoken to Marco in about 16 Years. Would like to make contact again.

Ok, ok. I am alive and well. I am one of the big lurkers on this site due to the fact that I do not have internet @ home and now have to use some time at work to catch up on all the chat on this site. I think that once I also start chatting I will not get ANY work done. Charmain and Lourens, I will e-mail you as soon as I have a free minute (that is after getting my updates from this site and then doing my work: priorities you know!).

Bev, Heinz had just been released from hospital after having a small op that morning and could not focus very well. He wanted to know who this crazy lady in front of us were, waving so crazily and smiling. I was concentrating on the traffic, coming from Oranjemund and hitting peak in Blouberg Rd is scary!!!!!!!!!!

Phew, Nada...I feel redeemed, I was worried that those living outside Omund thought I had a fictional Nada that I kept talking to...now get back to work.....

Chleen, I do know Momberg people in the Olifantshoek district - farmers with kids at school in Olifantshoek and I think some of them are grown up already. Don't know if they are family of the people you are looking for, but I will for sure try and find out for you. No Mombergs are listed in the telephone directory under Kathu anymore....... Will ask Fanie Momberg of Olifantshoek if he knows people with those names.
