OPS School Gala Today!

Well Folks, today is the OPS School Gala, My two girls will be swimming, only problem is they are Red House, I was Barnato.... Sharon Holland (nee' Wilson) does the coaching for Red House and has gone the extra mile by arranging that her swimmers spend their free time on Sunday afternoon's in training.... so I expect Red House to win...

The Gala is no longer held at the town pool, but in the Indoor School pool.... in our day, the entire school would be there on a saturday to swim........ the entire school does not attend, just the older classes.... My youngster , Cameron is only six, and is the only girl in her class that will be attending swimming, in fact she is only one of three kids in the entire grade, that will leave their classmates behind and go to the gala today......she will be swimming with the under nines....

I gotta sneak outta work today......!

Just made it back again, Shannon just finished a close 2nd in the backstroke, although me being the father reckons it was a 1st... too close to call, where 's the tv replay..... it was still a very good effort considering she left the block last.. Anyhow , I left the rest of the screaming parents and have returned to work to deal with a PC problem... here are to pics taken just now,,,,, sorry for the poor image, I'm gonna purchase a new one soon...

Where's the swimmingpool been built? On the old rugby field?
strange seeing the way the hall is built. In Germany swimming halls are built like normal houses and are used in winter. A time you need heating...

Yes, it was...the foofie slide ended on the north side of the field in the corner...

COME ON RHODES....................COME ON!!! Yip, I was in the red team as well, and if memory serves me correctly we were the best..............at EVERYTHING.................
Great to hear the gala is still going; just a pity only the select few are allowed attend............remember when they'd erect a pavillion style thingy and the scores would be marked on the big chalk board............I always came in second to Sonia Spackman, what a great swimmer..............
Well done to your girls Mike; milkshakes and 'chicken' burgers are on the proudest mom & dad tonight.........order one for me................
