Sometime in the 70's the Boswell Wilkie Cicus, came to Alexander Bay, for some reason they could'nt cross the bridge. The gate was kept open that night, and there in the middle of the desert up went the Boswell Big Tent, A convoy of cars left Oranjemund for this special event. That was the first and only time I ever saw so many cars driving in convoy across that bridge and around Swartkops hill....

Hey - there is still a circus at the bridge!

Not called Boswell Wilkie any more, I think they are now called Customs and Immigration.

(hope they don't read this forum - I might never be able to leave again) :o
Where am I going and why am I in this handbasket?

Paul Alexander

All I know is that when they packed up and left, they forgot some of their clowns behind... some of them actually run this mine now :)

Michael Alexander

Are u allowed to make statements like that? That's like me saying I buy my chicken at Woolworths....

You do buy your chicken at Woolworths !!!! I can say it so long as I include myself in the bunch of clowns .... (not hard to do really)

Warren Weidemann

Why, what's wrong with the chickens at spar? ???
Where am I going and why am I in this handbasket?

Paul Alexander

Please Warren, Mike prefers to refer to refer to them as co-managers.. just because they don't make decisions without consulting Jolanda doesn't make them chickens

Michael Alexander

Ah Paul - I see what you are doing - it's a play on words, I gettit!
But no I was talking about the frozen chickens, you know, those brownish one's with four legs and two necks.
Don't tell me there's something wrong with them.

I don't like the woolworths chickens, they taste too much like chicken.
Where am I going and why am I in this handbasket?
