Hi Rob......i lived across from Sandy...and i do remember him telling me who moved in when we moved out........maybe it was you....i dont remember the house   number since joining this site..................we were next door to the castles........ive asked mike twice for a pic of the house....but told him the wrong number twice.......he then got fed up of me.........and not seen anything since......maybe if its the same house....you can ask for you....and ill get to see it

Rob I would love to join you in the bombing contest.....but must warn you i was never very good....i hate being splashed ...........But i still havent had an answer to my question about the diving board........NO ONE WILL TELL ME>>>>>>>>>>>>>>    Is the spring board still there....Dalene did mention (thank you Dalen) that the high board was no longer there....but still dont know about the spring board.......

The Big one has been removed for safety reasons.... the small one is still there, however some of the heavier than me , old aunties will not be able to use it, for fear of breaking it.....

I remember a boy jumping from the small one. I thgink he couldn't swim properly yet, so he jumped toward the side to be safe. Now he always pushed his tongue out. He jumped to far, hit his chin and almost bit his tongue off.

We lived at 62-2nd ave. You lived on the same side as us but down the road. Weren't the Castles on the corner?

We left 2nd ave to move to 21-1st Ave sometime after Sandy's episode. Your photo at the pool was taken in 1966 so I might have been in Std 4 or was it 5? Presumably already booked into littlewood House at Wynberg Boys High!

MIKE......... :emot112:   youll be eating your wooooords .......but.....i used to have this re occuring dream...for years and years...i was on the spring board at the o/m pool....just as i was about to dive the board would snap.....or i would slip.....or the board would have no spring and i would dead leg myself.....i never got to dive into the pool...now fingers crossed it looks l;ike im going to get to actually stand on that board that has been part of my dreams for so long..........i dont have the drream any more....maybe your right mike....maybe i should forget the idea eh....... :emot19:

Rob...i really dont remember how far down the ave our house was...........Ive always remembered your name.....but cant remember anything else......up to now. but....i get the occasional flash back  ........i seem to think we lived at 52.....i just need to find out what number the castles were at.

Koos O' Kennedy is As Afikaanns as they come, don't even know if he speaks english.... it's actually amazing the number of Afrikaaners with Irish and Scottish names.... I work with Arthur Wesley Gordon Conry.... Afrikaans, I remember two old Oranjemunders who were appies with me... Gordon and Charles Sinclair...real redneck Afrikaaners.... there's a whole host of them....
