How many of you were naughty enough to get hauled on down to the Cop shop to get a lethal dose of South West African Police punishment.... I heard of a few guys from my era, and the stories that went around town, were that they put salt on your buttocks/legs before they caned you, to make the pain worse,,,,, anyone else know more about this story?

They actually put the canes in salt water before they were used on the buttocks.  Made the cane heavier and more flexible (maybe for max impact?).  But that practice was stopped a long long time ago.   barb1

Lyfstraf is uit.............  that's why crime rises, 'cos the cane ain't rised anymore.  If some of the old punishment methods were still in use a lot of criminals would think 10 times before commiting a crime!

Geez, remember those little canes, that was covered with thight brown leather, that the policemen used to carry as part of the uniform?  Big Dirk used that thing on our butts  -  .............   need I say more!

Hokkas - is that you Stephan Hockney?  If it is, damn right, you little s....t!  :36_2_35:

Also never got the caning, but like you Hokkas, I saw the inside of that station once thanks to Sgt Barnes when a couple of us got bust for the Holy Herb  spinningweed.  He was on a mission to catch us and he finally did, we'd gotten lax about where we were smoking so our own fault I guess.  Got let out on R100 bail only after they took me home to get the rest of my stash.........damn, i  was collecting the pips for my own plantation, the stuff grew amazingly there...........
