Breakfast

Just had the most superb breakfast  -  ordered it in from a new place that opened here in Kuruman.  Bacon, eggs, wors, fried liver strips, brown bread toast, cheese, fried tomatoes, avo spread with lots'a black pepper and 2 mugs of tea to swallow it all down with.  I think I will be fine now till tomorrow morning  -  feeling somewhat full now. 

And now I want to lay my head down to sleep!  That's the main reason I try not to overdo it in one meal  -  puppy syndrome  -  when you are full, your eyes close and you can snore away happily till you get woken by hunger again.

How many of you out there seriously go into the breakfast thing?  Not me  - just once in a while I will make the effort to do a big breakfast, the rest of the time it's like a 'grab and run' thing  -  that's if there is time to grab  -  mostly just run....

I'm not a breakfast person, but me and some colleagues have just ordered some Indian food for lunch. Butter chicken and garlic nan for me ... D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S ... the garlic might be a problem for the others as I have a meeting in 30 minutes ...

@Dalene. Have to start my day with a good feed. Don't ever ear inbetween. So keeping regular meals is important at all to me.

I also never eat in between meals  -  as for the meals themselves  -  I only eat when I'm hungry.  Never made sence to me to stick to a time controlled eating chart or habbit being passed down for centuries.  Lunch is at 12 and you will eat then  -  what if I'm not hungry at 12  -  don't force me to eat.  Food, to me, must be enjoyed at leisure - should'nt be rushed and most of all - no negative connections to it.  Arguments around the table make me push my plate back.  People rushing me to swallow and not chew and tase make me push my plate back. 

I just don't like it when parents force their kids to eat.  If the child is not hungry when you want to feed him or her - leave it.  Just don't stuff them with cooldrinks, sweets, coockies, chips and other stuff also.  If later the child is hungry, believe me, they will eat the healty food you give them.  Most of our modern day digestive problems arise from stress related issues around the table.  And the worst  -  mothers dishing up for kids - plates stacked to the roof and then they make the child sit at the table till the child have finished the food  "You will not leave the table till your plate is empty!"  What are you doing, mamma?

I used to tove cream-crackers gauda and marmite. Nan Morrow used to make the stuff for us kids. But toast and marmite for breakfast...
