Does anyone recognise any of these signatures? This was a card that was given to my brother Richard Jonker when we left Oranjemund in 1968. It was signed by some members of the Yacht Club.

Wow it's kinda surreal how something you signed as a youngster suddenly appears on a website 40 years later. I'll have to get my brother Richard to respond to some of these posts as you were all classmates once upon a time. He's not too computer savvy.

Hi Mel,
One of your signatures is from Joan & Brian Johnson, who are living in Fishoek. They are members on the site so if you want to contact them send them an E-MAil

Hi Melanie,

Diana has about named them all, I was a std above them - but quite a few of them were my friends.
The one Diana did not name is James Bunton, whose name is above Diana's.

Rainer Siebers and Diana Rudd (Boehme) are friends of Debbie and I to this day - Diana is up the road from us and Rainer is up the river from Omund at Rosh Pina Namibia - we saw Rainer and his wife Linda last week and the week before had them round for lunch. Debby and I are planning to attend the Omund reunion in November 2008 and will be seeing rainer again.

Others in your brother's class that were in our group in primary school and high school during school holidays were Paul Lisser (killed in a plasting accident in the 70s in Omund - his brother Erwin is now my brother inlaw) Danie Belelie (last saw in the 80s in Cape Town) Peter Borchers, Aileen Ockwell (Michelle was in my class - I believe Michelle met your brother at Jimmy's funeral in Aus) James Bunton (last saw in the 80s - lived in Hout bay Cape Town)

Ask your brother if he remembers me?

Keep well.
