My mum and dad where members of the Moths (Members of the tin hats) I remember my mum had to kill a scorpion with a broom(brush) cus it was in the kitchen. They did a lot of help with disabled people, well done to all you Moths out there you did a lot for us kids. I also remember playing in the tanks at the Moths, are they still there?
I have the best and most difficult job in the world, I am a mum!!!

Used to love going to the Moths with my parents - they would getdrunk and give us all sorts of crisps and juice to keep us quiet - the only thing I didn't like was have to use the loo, they were out the back and never seem to have lights that worked.
We still have the 'The MOth Cook Book'  Best banana bread recipe in the whole work.

Robert Bruce

Gawd they still have that old Sherman outside the Hole!!! Amazing!

I remember Xmas parties, New Years Eve dances and "Rememberence Day" parades.  Men like my dad Eddie Jones, Jim Reid, Roy Fields, The Smiths (going back to my childhood) and people who's faces I see in my head but can remember their names.  It was great fun.

Banana Bread

125g      Butter
250g      Sugar
3-4                Bananas

1 Teaspoon Baking powder

Method

Cream the butter and sugar – until your arm hurts.
Mash up bananas until they look  disgusting and add to butter and sugar.
Mix together until your arm really hurts.
Then add one egg at a time – mix well.
Sift the flour and salt together and dissolve the bacarb in the boiling water.
Add the flour and the Bicarb water to the mixture alternating until the ingredients are well mixed.  Rest arm....
Lastly add the baking powder and beat it in quickly.
Pour the mixture into a greased tin and bake for approximately on hour in a moderate oven.
Let it cool a little in the before turning it out otherwise it breaks.

Goes really well with custard........enjoy
