SOmething is most definetely up... the town feels empty, At the shop we can see a marked decrease in customers in the shop.... the streets do not seem as full as they were, the bars ar quieter..... is this the end, that we always heard about.....?

Hang in there, the re-awakening will happen once the Government, Namdeb & the Arabian Sheik has done their dealings.

This time of the year  -  May & June - always seem to have a sort of slowdown regarding trades and deals.  Even nature seems to slow down a bit in all aspects  -  except China  -  they got a good shake up 3 days ago!
Life becomes harder for us when we live for others, but it also becomes richer and happier. Friendship is a sheltering tree.

To be clever enough to get a great deal of money, one must be stupid enough to want it.

Those who bring sunshine to the lives of other cannot keep it from themselves.

We  are seeing it in  our industry  .. consumer  packaging  ..  we  were awarded  a  contract  for  shrinkfilm  for  Savannah 6 pack .. 30 tons a  month !!    with  the  way  things  are  going we  were  expecting  the  increases in  everything   to  have  a knock on  effect     2 - 3  months  from  now ...   maybe  a   bit  of   a slowdown   with winter  ...  last  fuel  prices and  more  interest  rate  hikes   are rining  loud   .. people  are  finally  getting  the  message   . slow  down  on  the  spending  ..   our customer  has  now  told  us  to    cut  back  to  15  tons a  month   untill  further  notice .. we  wait  and  see ...   we are  going  to  be going  through some  interesting  times  .. my  heart  goes  out  to  the  unemployed .. and  also  the " working  poor "  as  they have  been  termed ..   the  + - 8 %    wage increases  are  now  worth  Gaai ..   I  see    demands  for  12 % +  becoming  a  conscienable  reality..
To see  sometimes  requires that you  first believe .

I dunno, Mike, I thought the Don was pretty hectic on Tuesday night (as you would well know!).  It might have quietened down when you left at 02:00 but I was long gone - in the literal sense - by then!  The only thing I don't see much of any more are Cheetah & Bull supporters...not even at SPAR!
