Hey Mike, I remember Willie Hanekom.  His daughter use to do horseriding with me.  Jo-Marie.  Does anyone perhaps know whats become of them all and where they might be?  Would love to get in touch with Jo-Marie.

I remember Monica Barnes from the hospital when I had my tonsils out in 70 or 71. She and Rex were living in Fish Hoek last time I knew.

@Mike :-)  That would be much appreciated.  Stephen Hockney said that she was in the police in the Cape but unfortunately not much to go on when trying to track someone down.
thnx

OMG this is so strange....I've been trying to find my friend Helen for a long time now and this morning, with help from Clive Symes, (thank you again Clive) was told Helen had passed away a year ago.
So shocked with this news I've not done much at work today and have mostly being surfing O'mund on line.  While on line this afternoon I found, Child Boards, which I'd not noticed before and in the caption European Medical is a photo of three nursing sisters, one of them being Helen just as I remember her.  It felt like someone poured a bucket of ice cold water over me. Coincidence or something else, I don't know but this has completely thrown me.

A bucket of ice cold water .. so aptly put Julie .. we all get those shocks .. like a freight train hits us full on the  side and takes us out for the moment . ..  we all take for granted that we go on forever .. and then we make contact with people  and get news that throws us .. been there  myself and  seen it on others .. strength .. thats all i can say ..  Sandy

@Dunja, I bashed into George Hanekom yesterday outside the shop, we exchanged the customary greetings ..."Howzit Boertjie!"...and "Ja! Soutie " (fact, we have always greeted this way for some strange reason)..... We spoke for a brief few minutes.... and I said to him..."I'm sure I had to ask you something, but I cannot remember what it was...... the harder I tried to remember ..the more i forgot...., so I am sorry, I only realized now what I was meant to ask him... I will not forget next time..... Sorry!

image24   It happens in the best of families Mike :-)  Will wait till the next time you bump into him.   At this stage will just be so appreciative to get her contact details.  I have waited for over 20 years I guess another couple of weeks is ok... lol

Wasn't it somebody with the surname Friend? I'm sure the son was with my brother at school - Geoffrey Friend.
