Just like we always had great competitions between the three OPS houses, the plants and hostels also had their competitions.  These three pics are from "First Aid Competitions".
Anybody who could add more info on the people in the pictures, please help.

In the first picture, the lady with the white shirt (without sunglasses) could be Matron Barnes.
The gentleman with tie - Edgar Selby?
In picture 2 - Gentleman with hat = Fanie Kotze, and with crossed arms = Grobbie (FP) Grobbelaar.
In one of the pictures, the Affenrucken team flag can be seen.

Yes, the smaller ones are little difficult to see.  The original is more than 500kb, so I had to make them small.

I haven't been on here in ages and happened to stop in today and find this post.  I think the last pic is of my Dad (Wally Jonker) standing with sunnies on.  He got a gold medal for his first aid certificate if I recall.  I know it seemed to be the bane of our lives that bloody book he was always studying and he kept it on top of the fridge.  Whenever we wanted Dad to play with us he always had to STUDY!!!  It did come in handy though.... all that knowledge as he has always been the one to bandage us up or apply poultices to all our ailments in the years gone by.

@ Teel - yes, I think you're right.  My dad wasn't sure.  Thanx.  Did your dad also use you as a "dummy" to demonstrate? iknow

Yes!  We thought he was sooooo clever.  We honestly thought he was almost a Doctor!

Melanie Jonker

Hi Teel, just thought I'd let you know that the book is still in our family - I have it!  grab
