I remember the parks with fondness. The Parks here in Tasmania , do not have play grounds in many of them. It is sad. Seems they took them down so the kids would not hurt themseves.

Yeah, but I thought that was half the fun, the thrill. You dont go down the slid for a soothing affect!

Here in Australia if you trip over a twig you can sue the government, local MP, shire council, mayor and even the park attendant for a billion dollars.

A slight exaggeration, but its gotten that bad. Even charity events such as fun runs have to be covered for indemnity insurance that is so expensive that the organisers have to cancel the event.  Anything that requires moving a big toe is now off limits.

It seems that parents are no longer accountable for their own kids.

Thats one thing I do not miss about the 1st world...all that red tape... all those mountain of laws, banana must be this long etc....

I remember one particular peice of equipment at the park at the end of our ave. I used to go on it all the time, whilst eating banana shape lolies(sweets), ofcause!
It was a large pillar with ropes with handels hanging down. You sat or hung on these and some one made you spin around?
LOL LOL LOL Does anyone have any idea?

Diana Rudd (Boehme)

We have the same piece of equipment at Morgans pre-school....great fun...N.B. one must be eating a banana or a bananna lolly
