Um, I know I haven't been getting at the Durban Poison but I also want to know about what? What about the seasons?

Claire Mc Cullagh

Season - today so far we have had three.

Sunshine in the morning - left Crumlin Halway to Belfast - Mist and Fog.
10:00 in Newtownabbey - Rain.

Second smoke break - no coat , bit of sunshine.
third smoke break - freeze the balls of a brass monkey. ....   and we haven't even reached winter yet.

Can't wait till winter then I know what to expect - F-ing cold all day......

Michael Alexander

Yep! The Weathers all a bit screwy these days, it's not meant to be raining this late in the year in Omund, only 1 day of east wind in Sept and now rain and cold winds ...it better stop soon, I gotta lotta beer and braaing to do on Saturday...Slurpppppp!    8)

we didn't get much of a summer this year at all,  so I think we are going to go to one of the Greek Island next year for a couple of weeks and hook up with some friends that live there.  Cheap drink and all you can eat Braai , Can't Wait.

I  remember  when  a friend  of  mine was  going  to spend the  school  hols  with us .. His  parents  owned  the  old  Highstead hotel  in  St Johns  road  seapoint  .. we used  to  stay  there  during  our  holidays  in  CT ..  I  remember  phoning  him  and telling him  to  make  sure  that  he  brings  an  anorak  .. ( versatile synthetic  with  padding  ..  zip  up   when  cold ,,  open  up  when  hot  and  had  the  fold  in  hood  in  case  it  rained )  so  it  was ideal  for  our  4  season  days   ha  ha   and  when you had  a  sandstorm  the  hood  kept  the sand out of your  hair ..
To see  sometimes  requires that you  first believe .

well i can tell you about screwy weather .... it has not stopped raining for more than 24 hours in a space of a month and a half here in durban....whens summer coming...i finally get a house with air con and i have no use for it.....not to mention the pool
of course i am in shape...i'm round

Darryl, you could always courier us some of that unwanted rain - we are in desperate need of it here in the Northern Cape / Kalahari region.  Just remember to include a little bit of sea.  No need for beach - we have a very large one here already - sand everywhere.

PS:  Wat was jou nooiensvan en wanneer was jy in Oranjemund?  Sal jou moet kom opsoek wanneer ek in Kimberley kom.

(they registered on forum too) Juanita, Renee and Debby.

Was op Omund vroeg in die 70's tot laat in die 80's.

By the way het gelees jy praat van Hugo van Rooyen op 'n ander "post" (cant remember where) I used to play Netball with his wife Lanie. We had some great parties with them. Was lekker stout saam. Weet jy dalk waar hulle is?  They taught this soutie to eat afval! must admit its not my favourite.

You are welcome to pop in anytime.

Didnt you play Netball too?

Dalene Steenkamp (Coetzee)

Yvette, I think we should ask Adriaan about Hugo.  The last time that I saw him was in November '88 when we went for a visit (Jumbo and Susan Nel).  We had a braai at Adriaan's place and he popped in.

Yes, I did play netball.  I remember a day at practice when a girl broke her arm, but I can't remember her name.  Do you recall something like that?  We used to play soccer with the boy's during brake times, but whenever it had rained, for a reason I still can't understand, we played netball.  Got us all wet and we had to go to the art class after brake to get our clothes dried over the heaters.  I also did athletics, gymnastics and tennis.  Also used to run - loved cross country and also did the Pink Pan race.  Still have the medals we got for those races we used to run down the road behind the 1st ave bushes - the service road infront of the gas station and Jowells Garage.  We always had to beg Mr. Felix Nieuwoud to get time off choir practice early, so we could go run.
