I just want to share this mail with you guys involved in the recent activities on the board. This is Garrys comment on he topic. I sent him the links to read the other day.
Garry has lived in PE and Uienhage all his life.

The person moaning about the jokes needs to get a life. He must have been so disappointed when he realised the tooth fairy, easter bunny and santa were not real. Equally, his disappointment stretches to the political arena, where the truth has dawned on him that amongst black africans, greed, corruption and theft are a way of life, hence the downfall of not one, but all countries previously run by competent ( may I say white) people. He goes on about "Eksdom", but the truth hurts, as that very company, previously well managed, chose to "affirmatise", get rid of competent management, and employ people who were friends, family, and /or members of the ruling party,and degenerate into what we have today, while paying themselves millions in "performance" (?) bonuses. Very dom!

It does not stop there, and I could write for a week about the arms deal, and millions paid across to the very top of our government as bribes.Our current president, after being exposed for his part in the arms deal, threatened legal action against the publishing newspaper. The newspaper in question then challenged the president to take them to court, as the truth would then be exposed. Well, we're still waiting for the pres to make his move, and I doubt he ever will.

Mr moaner, please explain to my children, who had nothing to do with apartheid, why they cannot get a job because they are white.

Well here we have someone who certainly does not mince his words .. lets call it ala Al Gore " an inconvenient truth "  ....
Sad fact is  history does seem to have a way of repeating itself on this continent ,  these countries and their leaders seeing what is happening  but  ganging together like a bunch of lawyers  and defending  and protetcing each others wrongdoing and slide into mediocrity , worse still the world  leaders standing by and doing the same watching game .. in all a sad game of repetition and not learning  from the mistakes of the past ..
Worse still is the  pulling of  the race card  , or colonialist ghost , or the  elitist card while strangely enough they dine on the finest and send their kids to the best schools , and  the most peurile  one is to blame apatheid  so many years down the line when  confonted with that inconvenient truth ...
I am a realist , so am not easily disapointed , gobsmacked  yes ,  but not offended by  the lampooning of their clownlike behaviour , which is indeed richly deserved ...
If we allowed this circus that is playing  itself out  in front of us  to get us down then  we might  as well  all roll up in balls and die ... so I have  got a collection of cartoons  with " inconvenient truth "  these appear in media .. so surely should not offend

Georg there is a right  time to comment , and give as balanced comment as possible .. I only came in on the  frenzied end of the last fracas  so was not up to speed  so that was not my time  to comment ,, now it is  the right  time .  so there you have it  in a nutshell as one would put it .. ..

Absolutely not !! up till a certain age we are allowed to believe in the tooth fairy  and Santa Claus .. but  when  you a 7 year old Donald duck ( which equates to a good age in human years  then its definitely  time to let  go  of the myths of childhood  , thats  excepting fairies and other nature forces )   lets  say  when we  16 and older  we should   start  grasping the reality that life has to offer ... ..  So yes to Lucie  all the blessings of the tooth fairy and the belief of her ..  

Ok heres another desensitizing one ..

And  one  of me  when I at an early age discovered   of my own  inbuilt  wisdom  that the tooth fairy  was a myth .. i was indeed inconsalable ..

Hey Granny D ..  I am a new parent and yes the Morag will also be told that the tooth fairy  exists  despite the  fact that we as   grown ups know otherwise .. we in our wisdom allow the young ones to discover on their own .. or in the case of DD  have to tell them ...
