I must say that I was pissed off with Thabo Mbeki's reaction at the airport leaving for the bok game about Lucky DIbe's murder.... " We must all join together to fight crime!" what a typical political statement, for over a decade the South African people of all walks of life and creeds have been suffering, while this idiot cannot see whats happening to his people....


If I lived there and my family was murdered, I would go after Mbeki and the top dogs in government.....

No wonder the people in the townships don't phone the cops anymore, they just lynch the blokes themselves....

Up in Windhoek a month back, a guy stole a cellphone from a township resident, the rest of the residents chased the thief and he jumped into a dam to escape the mob, he forgot that he could not swim and drowned, the police did'nt even bother diving for the body, and waited a week for it to float, nobody was sorry..... bring back the death penalty........

Nearly got pushed off the road near Sannieshof recently when coming back from J'burg in mid September. Lucky for me the bastards tried to turn around infront of me to play "chicken" with me when I did'nt go off the road, then overturned their own car - at a helluva speed!  I am still waiting for an answer from the police.  Gave them the full details of the car, including registration number etc.  How's that for follow up and in crime and protection of the citizens of this country.

The father in-law of a lady working in office with me, got hi-jacked and killed in June.  They also have received no feedback from the police till this day.

And we think "How the west was won" were rough times!!

To add to the topic of crime and other related happenings.  What do you guys think about the 'shooting' accident that happened at Lohatlha recently?  Now that's a bitter pill to swallow for the relatives of the ones who lost their lives and for those who were critically injured.  All in a day's training in our SANDF. It's scary to see the stats about the types of accidents that has happened here recently, not even to mention the amounts of times they have started fires in the vicinity, causing farmers to lose 1000's of hectares of grazing.  Best of it all - the SANDF never gets called in to help put out these fires.  Their answer to the farmers:- put in a claim to Government!

Nothing against you folk who did your army training here.

Do you work in the SANDF?  I have been part of the organisation for 20 years now, and believe me, the combat readiness of the SANDF is non existant.  Here in Pretoria where we work and live, you dare not question a troop about his behaviour.  Anything you say or do turns into racism.  We will never get away from that.  A General sat in the gutter at Army HQ, his shirt undone, sitting eating pap with his hands!!!!!

Nowadays I do very little at work, as the 2 Majors and Captain sit infront of their computers playing games at 0730 in the morning and the Captain does his private studies at work.  So now you can see where the taxpayers money goes.

Hi All

My house got broken into early hours of Tuesday morning. My daughter was out and my farther and I were asleep as you do in the middle of the night. Two guys broke into my daughters bedroom which is a converted garage and when she returned home from a night out confronted them. One guy ran passed her but she tackled the second. They had a fight and eventually he got away. I was woken up with her shouting. The police arrived within minutes and took statements until 7.00 am at 8.00 am the CID arrived and then the forensic team. They took photos and collected evidence, stupid guy left his cap in the bedroom, within a day they were caught and they are to appear in court when the DNA comes back from the lab, police said they will get 5 or more years. It does't always happen as quick as this but i am glad it is for me. Tarryn received bruises and a big bite mark on her leg. England might not be as bad as SA but we do have trouble

Yes she was very lucky it could of been worse they could of had weapons which they often carry now.

I  have  been  the   intended  " victim "  in   a  few  crimes   in the  past  few  years ..

1.  A  holdup  at work   ..  was   staring  into  the  barrel  but ended  up  not  complying  with the  "dont move"  instruction  .. got  away  and  alerted  the  factory  to the fact   that  there   was  a  holdup  in  progress  and  they  fled ...

2.  Cycling  ..  4  guys    knocked me over attacked  me  and tried  to  separate  me  and  my  cycle .. did  not  succeed , so  were  beating  the s...   out  of me  and trying  to  drag  me  down  a side  street   ..  my  only  reaction  was  anger  and to  fight  back and  to  get a  cycling shoe  off  with  which  I   knew  could  do serious  damage   with...   they  had  to abandon when  another  car  came  down  the  quiet  sunday  morning  road   ..  I just loved  their parting   comment of " jou ma  se ............."  delivered  with  the  last  kick   before  they  ran  off

3. Hijacking ..  5 guys  jumped  out  of  car  their  in  front of  our house .. had us  two  surrounded  and  there  was  I facing  this  guy  walking  toward  me   within  the   metre   with  the  gun and  instructing  me  to   " hand  over  car  keys wallets  cellphones  .. no  fuss  no  mess "   thats the last  I remember  for  a  few seconds   cos suddenly  I  was  out of  the  crowd  throwing  the car keys  under  another  car  ( instinct   or  guardian  angel ? )  and   proceeded  to  do  some  serious  multitasking  kicking on  doors  screaming  and at  the same  time  getting   10111  on  the  line  .. boy  were these  guys angry ,,  they all jumped into their  car and were chasing  me   down the road  .. one  hijacking  aborted..  they  had  to  drive  off eventually  as I was  attracting too  much  attention ..  all  we  can  work  out is  that  my  right hand was  very  sore  the  next day  .. again I  must  have  got  angry  . lost  it and  hit  out ..   dont  know which  is  best  or worst  ..  but  my  survival  instinct   says  that  a  moving  target   has  a better  chance  that    the person  under  their  control  as  all  they  have  to  do  is  put the  gun  to  your  head  and ... lights  out  forever ... 

so   far  I  have  never  become  the  victim  cos  I got  angry  and  hit  back  ..

Barbara .. as  your  daughter  did .. get  angry  ..  its  a  double  edged sword  .. anything  could  happen  but  just  imagine  if  everyone  got  angry .. everyone  tackled  the  few  thugs     holding  the  majority  to  ransom on  the  trains   etc etc ...

My family too have been the target of crime.
House brocken into.
Car brocken into to steal but we disturbed them.
Washing stolen (name brand,you know the kids)
My son Glen was held at gun point during a robbery at work.
My daughter Mandy also held at gunpoint at work when La Med was robbed a year ago now.Very traumatic as they were there for over 30mins.
Spier was held up as well,fortunately my Lindzi changed shifts and was'nt in that day.It would have been her as she did the cash ups.

Charmaine,  to answer your question about me in the SANDF  - no, but our farm is near Lohatlah, and we "see" a lot of the things I mentioned.  So many competent people leave nowadays  -  they cannot stand the lack of dicipline and the way things are done and handled. 

It's sorry and sad to read about all the things that have been happening, but still no-one gives an ear... the one's who listens to our complaints are our friends and the people in our communities.  The Government is totally deaf when it come's to topics like this.

Yes, and he might read this also, cause he does the odd lookabout on the site.  He actually got hold of me on my personal e-mail.  Him and his wife are in Musina, both working for De Beers.  Check the members list - he is on it and I suppose you will find his e-mail address there as well.  He was the one that told me about all the other ex O'mund people who also are now in Musina.  Everything fine with them - kids are grown and out of the nest.  I think they will like to get a surprize mail from you.
