Are  we  certain thats 24/11th ?? I recall  the Hockneys  stayed  in   2nd Ave just across  from  us  same  blue house  ..   then when Hockneys moved out the Coates family moved in  then  the van Schoors then  finally  Dave Glennie   you  can  check it out Mike ...

Hi Sandy, I cannot comment, but I am sure John will logon soon and let us know, I was fascinated by the name on the busstop though..... anyone got more info on the busstop names?

Must have been 24/11th ...that bus stop is in 11th, outside the Austins house. The Creedys could have lived a few house's up from them as I remember going there with Allan Austin.

   Just thought they would have been standing infront of a bus stop in 11th if they lived in 11th. Maybe they just rode the buses with their camera and took photo's at random bus stops.
I do remember more than one blue house.

Hi

I goofed on the captions.  The blue house is indeed where Tony lived and not 24/11 Ave.  I was sober at the time as well.  The bus stop caption is   "Bushalte bus stop"  which could very well be Afrikaans and English...
The house at 24/11 is on the corner and I took photos of this 2 weeks ago. The photo of the group shows the bakery and school in the distance  and is the corner of 8 Street and 11 Ave.
Goes to show that the forum is alive and indeed awake as well.

Hi John ,, yes that house  struck me as i saw it ... we lived diagonally across the road # 55 2nd ..  You must have ben friends with Ian or Peter  my brothers  . I remember Mrs Hockney always making nice  hot choclate  for me and Christopher  using proper cocao powder ...

I am starting to feel guilty...
Clive nice to hear from you.  You may not know but your Dad sold me my first darkroom enlarger and Dieter Hieser was the one who taught me about photography.  Now I must add that ALL the puctures I submit were long before Dieters time...
I have found some treatment plant pictures I can send to Mike as well as post cards of MDC's Colpontoon and Rockeater that were used in the ealy ORU/MDC days.  My brother Mike and Tony Hockney worked in Jasper House at the time of ORU and Tony could post a lot of interesting history both of the partying at Jasper but also what they did there outside the partying.  If only he would.

Dieter will have a huge volume of photographs and if he posts them I will promise not to post a photo of him and I have 2 seconds of movie on a soccer tour we did on the Angola boarder.  We went into Angola and had a braai and went tiger fishing.  The DC3 pilot was crazy.
