years ago c 013 is a photograph taken in front of the Methodist church opposite from the old Barclays Bank Near the Pool as I remember it, they are Danie and Norah le Roux my uncle and aunt.

Dad Omund office was a photo of my father in his Plant Foremans office at No 4 plant

1300 is a picture of Mrs Flora Fry Her daughters and myself in blue dress behind the recreation club there used to be a fishpond with goldfish, I loved watching them and being with 'Aunty Flora' and friends.

Wow!, I remember the fish-pond in the park where the Library stands today!
There used to be a park between the town pool and the Rec club. Who can remember the original children's library next to the camera club, behind the Veg Market?
Not sure if the original wooden building still stands.

Hi Gert. I remember the building in question, but recall it being the Cub / Scout hall back then. In my time, the kids library was on the left of the pathway leading from Cora's cafe between the town pool and the rec club in the direction of the single quarters.

Yep Gert and Carl. You are both right. In the building there were cubs, scouts, camera club and the childrens library. The childrens library moved to the adult library in 74.

Who of you remember that book in the childrens library in the 70's that dealt with how the human body works?

The librarian got a bit suspicious after noticing that every kid in town wanted to borrow it, and after investigating further, noticed that the chapter on reproduction had somehow slipped passed the censorship board in those days... 202

After the discovery, future library users found that the pages of the desired chapter had been conveniently glued together.
