Only 10 more sleeps, then I'm outta here for 3 weeks....  on my way to Henties once again.   So looking forward to the trip and the holiday!     woo_hoo

So, who else is going away from their 'pondokkies' for the December holidays?  and where are you off to?

Holiday at home for me.  Fortunately taking a break from dental patients for 3 weeks.  Will be working hard to get the Herbal practice up and running.  Want to open in second half of January.  So, from next year, I'll be practicing both.  Garden gnome as well as tooth mouse.  (Don't you dare Diana & Rhona - leave the tooth fairy out of it).   ha ha
At the moment buying stock (herbs, alcohol, oils, base creams, bottles, bags, labels, files, etc,etc...)  And also making tinctures like mad!  Looking forward to the change in pace.  woo_hoo  weed  msn emoticon (224)

After all the trouble i went to to book accommodation etc, I had to cancel all.  The company for which hubby works did not book any seats for the guys and yes, all the muslims have taken up all the seats on ALL the aircraft, so my daughter and I will be sitting home alone over Christmas, as well as New Year. I was looking forward to my trip down memory lane, wanted to visit Oranjemund after 20 years. Perhaps next year.

Sorry to hear, Charmain!  msn emoticon (68)
Hope you have a great Christmas anyway.  Sometimes changed plans work out for the best. Maybe it'll be special after all?  xmastree

Well....  some muck in the fan for the Steenkamp's as well, but we still plan on going on holiday...

Thursday evening the hubby and son were on their way back from Olifantshoek, bakkie fully loaded.  2 Cars came from Kathu's way  -  flashing brights, thinking that hubby was driving on bright.  Next moment all shit was loose  :  ----
The car driving infront hit a horse in the road, sending the animal flying over it's roof (all in the dark, so hubby and son could not see this happening) and the fool in the mini-bus behind this car still kept flashing his brights.  The horse landed right infront of hubby's bakkie.  The car that hit the horse first was off the road, hit a ditch and crashed into a stone wall thing built by the culvert under the road.  The bakkie bounced over the horse, the load shifted on the bakkie, it ran broadside in the road, then tipped over.  Hubby's arm badly cut and scraped, son is ok, but......
BAKKIE IS A WRITE_OFF!

All the insurance schlep now - waiting for them to send acessor.  Write-off will not be finalised before we want to leave on Friday.  Now waiting for company to hear if new bakkie we ordered will be here in time and waiting for bank regarding financing etc.....

Could have been real ugly, but thankfull that they both ok.  The people in the other car that hit the horse first were quite seriously injured.

The owner of the horse......?   Who the hell will ever know!
