Carl Wrbka

This morning I was just sitting here, reflecting back on the year gone by, and this forum was one of the first things that sprang to mind.

Let me start off by wishing all of you and your loved ones the merriest of Christmases and all the best for 2009. Thanks for allowing me to be associated with all of you, It's really a honour for me. Lets keep it up in the years ahead.

To those of you that I have offended during this past year (Gerrit, Kaye, Cherry, Rhona, ...) please accept again my humblest apologies. Unknown to most of you, I suffer from chronic depression, and on some days the medication just doesnt seem to work as it should. This unfortunately translates into some of my thoughtless, uncalled for, insensitive postings in the past.

Lets make 2009 a great year for all of us, and keep this forum going from strength to strength.

Way to go CARL, I sit here  feeling very un "festive" like, no power in omund again for the day, using the laptop.....booked off work till next year..... feeling quite down....realising that due to my change of diets and recent op, that it ain't gonna be a festive season for me.....

However, it's great to know that you and all the fellow ex Oranjemunders are out there..... and yes, we had an awesome year of memory sharing.....a real virtual world..... new friends and a reunion..... I thought the forum was slowing down, but if you compare the stats with the same time last year, we are actually up....although traditionally it is quieter at this time of the year.....

So , to all ... I join Carl, in saluting you all, and hope you have a great xmas and New year.... I plan to be on SKype on Xmas afternoon, for those of you brave enough to chat.....

cheers all!

You lot said it all.  For me it's been one year I would rather forget, except for one event and the joy and love it brought - The day I discovered this OMD website and especially the forum.  From the first day when Mike replied to my e-mail, it has been nothing but pleasure.  It made the year worthwhile and the friends I reconnected with and shared so many lovely memories with - beautiful!
I know it has been a difficult year for many members on the forum.  Here's hoping that 2009 will be the best year ever for everybody.
Love my online family very, very much!!!

Yes  Good  wishes to all .. its going to be a busy time for lots of  us the next few days ...  invites and guests popping in ...   so I suppose we can expect to see posts  dropping ...
May  our  Christmas be  a blessed one celebrated in the right spirit , and the new  year ahead  a  bright one with our deserved  wishes  fullfilled ...
To see  sometimes  requires that you  first believe .

I echo all the thoughts of the previous writers and Carl, life is very difficult without having to carry the baggage of "offense caused" so our little tiff has been packaged, sealed with mountains of packaging tape and stored in the attic of things to forget permanently!

You have a blessed, happy and peaceful Xmas and New Year and it goes without saying that these wishes are sent to everyone on the forum!   3d smiles(281)

To all our online family - here is wishing you all a safe, blessed and peaceful Christmas.

2008 has definitely been another of "those" years and I know 2009 is not going to be an easy one either - full of ups and downs what with looking forward to the new Alexander baby but also having to say goodbye to (amongst many others) my folks after their stay of 27 years in Oranjemund, and then of course the worldwide economic crisis that is affecting even our little oasis in the desert.

All we can do is have faith, stay positive, be there for each other and we will come out on top!
