We always start the year off the way would like the rest of the year to be.
All the bills payed , Food in the fridge , money in our pockets and with the ones we love. 
So we will be sitting in and having a drink.

Apart  from  jetting up to  O'mund for an early evening session  of Tok Tokkie  , will be  jetting  back in time  for  21: 30 to go to  a good  friends home , its  light meal  lots of Bubbly  and we will  see the  new  year in  gently  and then  wend way home .. its poolside brunch  at another friend  on  new years day so want   to  feel  good and fresh ..

We will be at home.  Both our kids and their family will come over - weather permitting - and we will have familie tyd together.  No huge festivities.  Probably spend some time entertaining the grand children.

We're celebrating with Shakira ... got VIP tickets to her show in Abu Dhabi includign access to the after party ... so it's going to be a 'shake-the-hips' evening

Just heard on the radio that the ruler of Dubai has cancelled all New Year's celebrations in the Emirate as a sign of solidarity for Palestine. So no fireworks, live music, dancing, partying, etc. Not sure how that's going to help the Palestinians ... Fortunately for me the Shakira concert is in Abu Dhabi, so at least I'll be celebrating the end of 2008 and the coming of a wonderful (I hope) 2009
