Some nice photos you have there Georg and also looking forward to Di's photo's as well.

We need to get the 'personal stuff' from Gunther and Gaby and whoever else we can, i.e. when and how their parents or themselves got to Kolmans in the first place. What did their parents do in Kolmans. What did they do in Kolmans for entertainment, what excursions they went on, unusual characters in Kolmans , who were their classmates, who were their school teachers, did they visit Luderitz in their free time, when did they leave Kolmans and arrive in Oranjemund, also the technical stuff, i.e types of screening plants used, i.e. all these interesting bits of  info..............fascinating stuff especially since Kolmans was the forerunner of Oranjemund.

I want to know if there are any photo's of Kolmanskuppe..... when I was there way back on a company tour, I stared at the desolate sand strewn streets and wondered if and where the tree's had been?

Mike if you look at some of the early Kolmanskop pictures I do not think that there were any trees at all in the "town" apart from in the gardens of the few houses and maybe in the immediate area of the rec club, but here again we need input for Gunther, Anita, Gaby and others who actually lived there. It's this kind of detail we need. I imagine Luderitz would have featured very heavily in the day to day lives of the Kolmanskoppers seeing as it is only 24 K's ?  from Kolmans. The Kapps hotel would have been very popular 'watering hole'. I'd  like to know what cars/trucks they drove in the area in those days what with all the sand in the town, probably very early Landrovers, army Jeeps, Ford trucks ??......fascinating stuff.

Yes thats me, and i loved it......i changed then with my recorded music in the mid of the tune

I wonder how often that song sounded in that Gym in the old passed days
To me its very emotional when ever i sing that.

Georg, I'm impressed, you are blessed with a fine voice indeed.

Yes gives me goosebumps just to think of those old abandoned walls echoing to the sounds of that beautiful German song 58 years later. I'm sure the Kolmanskop ghosts came out later that evening when your party had left and carried on singing.

I see in the video a shot of the screening plant. Looks like a fairly large plant. You rarely see photo's of the screening plant.
