The Weather in Omund Today!

For those of you overseas, the east weather has left us a few days back and now it's pissing down with rain, glad it's my working weekend!

Rain  ..  You  need  it ..  enjoy  ...  we  now  had storms  in CT ...  got home  yesterday  afternoon  ..  found  Stagshorn  fern ( huge one )  blown off  its  hook toppled itself  and  how  many  ohter  plants into  the  fish pond ..   ladder blown  over  .. branches  ripped    off  trees   on  way  home  .. flooding  of  roads etc .. I  recall  when  I  was  about  5 or  6  we had  a huge storm  the  one  time  ...  at  that stage  we  kept  doves  and the  usual  menagerie  of  animals  ...  I had  to  go  out  in this  raging  storm   at  night  and  tie  canvas  in  front  of  the  dove cages  , unusal  for  that  part of the world  but  if  it  did  do the  storm thing it  did  it  good  and  proper ...

It;s now the evening and it's fairly cool, the clouds have gone and the air is crisp, typical Oranjemund rains the whole afternoon, buckets of that liquid stuff... and now...... just cold....

The weather today is all screwed up, it's raining on and off the whole day here today.....Whoever remembers if it rained here in November..... Global warming and such! (or somebody put a works request in!   ;) )

Come to think of it.......  ja, I did request some rain, but my geography was never any good......   sorry!
Tsk, but never mind,  we're also getting quite a few downpours here in the Kalahari as well!

Scotland has seen buckets of the stuff over the last 2 days.  But here in Scotland the difference between summer and winter - the rain is warmer in summer!

I will for sure not order that!  Too thin in the bones to handle the cold.  I can just look at a picture of snow, then I start digging in the closet for a jersey!

All puddles are frozen. We've had a couple of snowflakes this week, but they melted right away.

I remember snow falling near Port Noleth in the 70s.
It's only 5 months till summer. Not at all.

My Father remembers a day at Uubvley in 1976, when it snowed briefly, with the Snowflakes melting as they hit the ground...

Georg, at the hotel in Aus, there are a number of photographs on the wall of the snow that falls at Aus...who would ever have thought that it could snow on the edge of the desert....
