I am hearing gossip that Lewis Stores in Oranjemund plans to relocate to Rosh Pinah,
I hear that Pupkewitz Megabuild Management arrive this week in Oranjemund, to discuss closure of their Store....
I hear that Graphic Zone is considering a move to Windhoek.......

...Anyone know anything.....

I also hear that local politicians are trying to establish a 5 Million Dollar agricutlure project at Oranjemund, in order to provide a few jobs.....

I hear the private local creche has had a number of people giving notices of their intentions to withdraw their kids from the creche due to their parents leaving Omund...

Oh! Hell, when will this madness end..... where's my retirement village...

Spar is handing out a further 12 retrenchment notices today.....

Shame Mike, I don't envy you, it's not lekker to have to go round and tell people that they don't have a job anymore.

Sorry to say but it's happening the world over and then the ones that remain in employment are being hit by increasing taxes........tough times ahead

Not good mike .. not  nice . my heart goes out to you ... .. we held our strategy conference today ...  lots of good plans , hope they pan out , the premise being that we still have a decent workload .. for me  holding staff at  10 % less  and I have people on short term contratc as well  so if it gets worse , they can  at least  go  reasonably painlessly as they  were knew upfront  their status  the ony carrot being  that if things pick up and they good  at their job then they stand to score a permanent position .. , but that would allow me a painless reduction to 20 %  staffing cut  if necessary for our survival ..  Its not a nice process  I had to do  retrenchments years ago ...  left a black hole in my heart for some time ...
To see  sometimes  requires that you  first believe .
