I echo that ... just spent the birthday   with my  oldest bro Peter .. he now 66 ...  he a tricky bugger emotionally  quiet withdrawn and not able to express  joy or pain  to others .. .. not quite like me .. open and to the point .//  but  with me he can  and yes we  love each other ..  him oldest .. staunch conservative .. me youngest .. totally different and a free thinker ..  strange but true .. it boils down to a mutual respect for each other ...  we always share a fat cigar  before parting ...    I got home and theres my two furry children ..   Tina .. then  Morag  scotty  teenage slut  at the moment ..  I just  lay down on the carpet in the lounge  and allowed them to  run all over me  lick me and  fight over  attention ..   crooning   .. moaning  ..  all the noises of appreciation that our animal children can  emanate .. I feel whole again ... the dollars .. the  patches , the  jessicas ..  the Byrons  ..  the so many  names of pets that pass .. . there is a story of a vet who was called upon to help a family pet pass on ..  he arrived at the house ..  did the deed .. the parents were  distraught .. but  their son was quite composed.. the vet asked him why he was  so calm about it .. so the boy  matter of factly told  the vet  that  human  beings have to live a long life on this earth  to enable them to learn the true  meaning of love .. whereas  our animal friends  know from birth the meaning  of love  therefore  they  dont  have to live that  long  on the face of this earth ... oops lump in throat ,,,

@ Sandy - you right, BIG lump in throat..........wise boy that - reading a book at the moment - channeled messages from spirit guides - when asked re the purpose of the human/animal relationship - the guides' reply?

"animals have such a loving and accepting way about them and they are given to you humans to teach you about true unconditional love and respect because in having a 4-legged addition to your family, regardless of what kind of 4-legged addition, it brings another dimension of love, understanding, patience and respect for other individuals than just humans.  So there is a great reason for them to be part of your human life".
The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your thinking.

Anybody in Cape Town interested in a new best friend?  I'm helping to look for a good home for a (SPCA) St Bernard called Max; 8 years old a real sweetheart.  His owners are relocating to the UK and are desperate!

Diana Rudd (Boehme)

If I didn't have my Zak...yes.  I'll ask around.

Old Oranjemunders, Ken and Maggi Dixon, who now reside in Rosh Pinah are looking for a new dog to adopt, there one died recently, however a St Bernard would not agree with the hot temp in Rosh Pinah....   cuqui

Hi John,

Sorry should have been clearer; he's ex-SPCA and not a pure breed.
