Who was eric davies and why did they name the youth hall after him?

The Eric Davies Hall existed already on my arrival in 1973

I think Eric was a public relation officer and is on one of my films showing us around in the recovery at 4 plant

You Beat me to that one Georg .. it was indeed Derek Erickson .. was rolling the name around in my head while trying to download the video ( Eric Derekson or Derek Erickson ??? ) he took us on tour as first year appies in 1973 ... Eric Davies Hall has been known as such as long as I could remember .. sure Mike has some info there ..

Age me again. I was at the inaugeral meeting that named the club after Eric Davies. He was a very well respected AGM at the time. A constitution was drawn up and I have some where a copy of that some where. Tony and Dave Hockneys Dad I think was the first Chairman. It was started for the youth of Oranjemund and hosted some of the very first "Bob sessions" in the Town.
