Who knows the names of the Scouts from Oranjemund, that attended the World Jamboree? I am not even too sure what year we are talking about.

Hi Sandy. Steve if I recall was supposed to attend the Jamboree in Iran but the Shah was deposed by the Ayatollah and it was cancelled. He stayed with us before he left for Korea and the latest is that he arrived safely and will teach the high school girls! His dream job I think!!

Cheers

Wow, what a memory flash that brings on!! I was a much younger Girl Guide at the time and remember being inspired (and somewhat infatuated) by Steven's achievement.  My those were the days!!

Hi Chris

I didn't accompany Steve on the journey from Cape Town. It was a chap called Michael Birbeck, a school mate of his.

All the best
